In order to travel with your pet to Iraq, there are specific requirements that must be met for each pet. Pets traveling to Iraq need to have a health certificate that is signed by a licensed USDA veterinarian, and then endorsed by the USDA APHIS office with their signature and seal. Iraq does not allow for these signatures to be electronically signed by each office. Signatures must be in original ink. This can be done at the USDA Aphis office. You will just need to call and set up an appointment.
Your pet should also be up to date on their vaccinations. This includes their Rabies Vaccination, and that your pet is free of all infectious diseases. Your pet must also be identified by a microchip. Iraq requires all of these prerequisites. Airlines may have other requirements for pet travel. Please note that the health certificate is valid for 30 days after.
Airlines have their own specifications for pet transport. A health certificate may be required for transport even though it is not a regulation that Iraq has for imports. Regulations vary according to what airline you pick.
